49 NAVY SUPPLY NEWSLETTER AUTUMN 2010 He concluded his illustrious career, dating back to 1972, on 11 December. CDRE Bob Richards officiated as Mr President, assisted by LEUT Lucy Casey as Madam Vice. PENGUIN Wardroom provided excellent fare and the service provided by the mixed civilian and Navy stewards was top notch. CDRE Richards highlighted the many significant achievements in RADM Robinson's career including seagoing postings in HMA Ships TORRENS, SUPPLY and SUCCESS, his foundation work as the first RAN Liaison Officer in the Middle East, breaking new ground for Supply Officers when he was appointed Executive Officer HMAS CERBERUS, and his highly influential paper "Supply Officer 2003" which has been the fundamental document that has guided the PQ to where it is today. The CDRE went on to highlight The Admiral's achievements as the SU Category Sponsor and Head of the Supply Community, inaugural head of Combat Support Group at Fleet , Director General Submarines in the DMO and finally as the Head of Maritime Systems. Other people to speak fondly of their memories of the Admiral included CMDR Howard Furness, the baby brother -- CMDR Rod Robinson and CAPT Nev Teague. Of course the Admiral responded, entertaining us all with recollections of some of the highlights and lowlights of his almost 38 year career. He is going out on a high. He has reached the pinnacle to which Supply Officers should aspire, and he has done so much for Supply Officers and the wider supply and logistics community within Defence. He has no immediate plans to seek gainful employment of any sort and is heading to the East coast of the US to explore the waterways of that part of the world with his American wife Lynne Anne. Farewell Dinner for RADM Boyd Robinson AM, RAN BY CMDR ANTHONY DAVIDSON, RAN Friends and colleagues of RADM Robinson gathered in the Wardroom of HMAS PENGUIN on the evening of 3 December 2009 to dine him out. RADM ROBINSON TOOK GREAT PLEASURE IN PRESENTING CAPT PHIL WARWICK WITH A MARITIME SYSTEMS DIVISION COMMENDATION FOR SUPERIOR SERVICE AS THE DIRECTOR OF THE LOGISTIC SUPPORT AGENCY NAVY.
