Maritime Logistics Community News : Summer 2010
27 NAVY SUPPLY NEWSLETTER SUMMER 2010 As we enter the final months of 2010, the Steward Category has again displayed true professionalism not only in hospitality services but also in the combat support role. This year has seen the category involved in major deployments and operations including RIMPAC, KAKADU, border protection and operational duties in the Middle East Area of Operations. Each and every one of you can be justifiably proud of your achievements and your contribution to the Supply Community & Navy throughout this year. It is also important to recognise the accomplishments of our Stewards ashore. During my travels this year I have seen first hand the contribution that our category is making in making such areas as Fleet Logistic Support Element (FLSE), Australian Defence Force School of Catering (ADFSC), contract management, Navy People Career Management Agency (NPCMA) and of cours those employed in Wardrooms providing first class hospitality services. I encourage you all to keep up the good work for the remainder of 2010 and into the future. Two major projects were completed in June 2010, the first being the completion of the Quicken Roll-out to Major Fleet Units (MFU) and Fleet Logistic Support Elements (FLSE) and the completion of the re-write of ABR 97 RAN Stewards Manual. From all reports, Quicken is functioning well and re-write of ABR 97 RAN Stewards Manual is currently with DNLogRS and is expected to be published shortly. In closing, I would like to again thank you all for the outstanding work that has been and continues to be achieved during 2010. Your achievements have contributed to the Supply Community-achieving everyday. Steward Category Manager Welcome from the desk of the Steward Category Manager.
